SMP Negeri 1 Ampana Represents Indonesia in WICE 2024 Malaysia

Four students of SMP Negeri 1 Ampana, Tojo Una-Una Regency, successfully represented Indonesia at the 2024 World Invention Competition and Exhibition (WICE) held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The student release ceremony took place on Wednesday (18/9/24) in the school yard, attended by Acting Regional Secretary Alimudin Mohamad, Head of the Dikpora Office Mohamad Fadli, and Principal Nisma Adam.

In his speech, Pj. Secretary of Touna, Alimudin Mohamad, expressed his pride and high appreciation to the students.

“This achievement is not only a pride for yourself and your family, but also for your school, region, and even the nation of Indonesia. the award you received today is a form of our appreciation for your dedication and achievements. Make this a motivation to continue working, innovating, and giving the best for the region and the nation,” said Alimudin Mohammad.

According to the Secretary, this competition is an extraordinary opportunity to showcase your creativity, innovation and knowledge in the international arena. I believe, you will bring home valuable experiences and brilliant achievements that will continue to inspire the next generation.” He added.

Meanwhile, the Head of SMP Negeri 1 Ampana, Nisma Adam, explained that the Indonesian Young Scientist Association (IYSA) facilitates students to develop scientific potential. The research team consisting of Reyner Enrico Sampe (Chairman), Megan Cristiani, Zhalfa Ghaisani, and Miftahu Rizqy submitted a research entitled “Utilization of Kersen Leaf Tea (Muntingia Calabura) as an Effort to Handle Diabetes Mellitus and Increase Appetite.

“This research focuses on the utilization of kersen leaves as herbal tea to help manage diabetes mellitus.IYSA facilitates students to develop scientific potential, both domestically and abroad.”

Nisma Adam also expressed her hope that her students would take away valuable experience from this event and return with innovative ideas that they can apply in their school communities.
