Students of the Faculty of Science and Technology UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung once again made achievements in the international event. This time this achievement was inscribed in an event called the World Invention Competition and Exhibition 2021 (WICE 2021).WICE 2021 is an event held in collaboration with various research institutions including: Indonesian Young Scientist Association (ISYA), SEGi College Subang Jaya-Malaysia and other research institutions. From the official website of WICE 2021, this activity is a platform that accommodates young researchers who implement their learning outcomes. This activity was attended by more than 27 countries with more than 350 teams.
WICE 2021 activities consist of more than 6 categories including Applied Life Science, Innovative Social Science, Applied Physics and Engineering and so on.The UIN SGD Robotics Team participated in the Applied Physics and Engineering category with the research title "The Prototype of Smart Aquaponic System Using Solar Photvoltaic System Based on IoT". The team members numbered 5 people, namely Reno Muhammad Fadilla, Saip Ardo Pratama, Fawzan Ibnu Fajar, Fitri Aulia and Muhammad Haniff who were students from the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Engineering.
This research develops simple Aquaponics that are effective and power efficient, and can be commercialized. Aquaponic itself is a sustainable agricultural system that combines aquaculture and hydroponics in a symbiotic environment. When asked about the motivation for joining WICE, one of the team members, Reno, said, "Basically, to seek experience in international events and measure the extent of our quality in doing research when juxtaposed internationally. In addition, our motivation is to seek achievements and bring the fragrance of Robotics UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung".
As the saying goes, "The shoot is loved by ulampun tiba", the UIN SGD Bandung Robotics Team managed to bring home a Gold Medal from the Applied Physics and Engineering category. In addition to getting the Gold medal, this team also won a Special Award from MIICA (Malaysia Innovation, Invention and Creativity Association). These two awards are certainly a matter of pride for the Robotics Team.In addition to achievements, another hope from the UIN SGD Bandung Robotics Team is that the results of this research can be implemented in the wider community, especially for fish farmers in Indonesia to advance Indonesian agriculture in the future. "Another hope is that UIN Bandung Robotics can further develop in the field of technological innovation so that later it can adjust to technological developments in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0," concluded Reno.
