SMAN-2 Palangka Raya Wins 2 Gold Medals in WICE Competition
This event is organized by the Indonesia Young Scientist Association (IYSA) in collaboration with the Malaysian Allied Health Sciences Academy (MAHSA) University. One of the universities with the best Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences in Southeast Asia. This WICE competition takes place from 21-26 September 2023 at MAHSA University Selangor Malaysia.
"There are as many as 20 countries participating in this competition, including Indonesia. And Indonesia itself sent 66 teams to Selangor Malaysia, both from junior and senior high school levels and one of them was a representative from Indonesia is SMAN-2 Palangka Raya," said SMAN-2 Palangka Raya assistant teacher Helita M.Pd, Saturday (30/9).
Furthermore, Helita explained, the team from SMAN-2 Palangka Raya consisted of 2 teams. With 4 students, namely, Fifany Junyana Putri, Sarah Laura Quaneisha and Marchyea Manara M.P they conducted a study entitled Effectiveness Of Traditional Herbal Tea Combination Of Dayak Onions And Peperomia Folium Weed As Urid Acid Reducer (Effectiveness Of Traditional Herbal Tea From Dayak Onion and Betel Water / Chinese Betel As Uric Acid Reducer).
"Then the other team, Ayudia Aurora Putri with research Hicusdarifta Clioriata Hs2rosinensis G2 Rotrifolia (HCHs2 rG2R) Ice Cream Herbal Remedies Invention From Collaboration of Indonesia Herbal Flowers and Probiotic Lactobacillus Bulgaricus to overcome Hyperglycemia (Ice cream made from herbal ingredients that overcome diabetes / high blood sugar levels, a combination of five flowers native to Asia, namely Telang flowers, Rosella flowers, hibiscus flowers and button flowers combined with Lactobacillus Bulgaricus Probiotics," explained Helita.
In this prestigious event, the two SMAN-2 Palangka Raya teams won 2 gold medals (Gold Medals) and even the team with Bawang Dayak research won the Special Award from the Malaysia Young Scientists Organization (MYSO). For the high school category, only two countries get it, namely Indonesia (Central Kalimantan) and Thailand.
In this prestigious event, the two SMAN-2 Palangka Raya teams won 2 gold medals (Gold Medals) and even the team with Bawang Dayak research won the Special Award from the Malaysia Young Scientists Organization (MYSO). For the high school category, only two countries get it, namely Indonesia (Central Kalimantan) and Thailand.
While one of the SMAN-2 representative students, Fifany Junyana Putri thanked all parties who had given their support and support. Especially both parents, families and also the school, teachers of SMAN 2 Palangka Raya who always support their students to excel and also provide support for us to participate in this WICE competition.
"We are very proud and happy with the gold medal we obtained because this event is an international event attended by outstanding young people from many countries. Hopefully this competition will motivate other friends, especially children from the region so that they can increase their potential to compete at the National and International levels, "he said.
